Since we opened our doors in November 2000, we've been growing to meet the needs of our customer base. When the business got off the ground our goal was—and still is—to make this business grow by servicing and repairing equipment for local friends, neighbours, towns people, and those traveling in the area. We provide comparable and affordable labour rates, licensed technicians, Motor Vehicle Inspection Station, fully insured facility and are happy to share our knowledge with those who are unfamiliar with small engine machines, but who need to use them.

Owner John Wight is both self-employed and busy in the powersports shop. He is also a volunteer fire fighter for the West Perth Fire Department. His number one priority is to his family: his wife Cheryl and little girls Cleo, Harmony and Trinity and son, Andrew, who we can see is the spitten image of his father thus far. John commits to doing his best to repair all outdoor power equipment, including lawn and garden equipment, push mowers, riding mowers, weed trimmers, chainsaws, tillers, snow blowers, snowmobiles, ATVs, dirt and street bikes, personal watercraft and inboard/outboard boat motors. He also has an established amount of knowledge in gun sales and repairs, offering basic gun maintenance to those who require it. He has attended numerous service schools to attain the up most up to date technical information for the various brands that we sell. On the days he finds some freedom, he enjoys cruising on his 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 Classic LT, when he has time he is going to start customizing it as well.

Co-owner and office manager Teresa Schoonderwoerd, sister to John, has been with Wighty's Repairs since September of 2002. She is wife to Don and mother of Georgia, Billie, and Addison. She has trained herself to be the leading parts department person and also does quite a bit of sales too. As said by many a customer, for a girl, she has quite the knowledge for for all things powersports and lawn and garden related. Come in and talk to her and you too might be surprised by what she knows. She is also the office manager, so if you don't find her behind the parts counter or roaming the showroom floor, then you will find her in her office busy at paperwork as usual. In her "spare time" she enjoys putting on miles of smiles navigating the roads on a 2002 Kawasaki Meanstreak that she customized into her own style and officially named "PEARL".

Technician Trevor Ruttan joined our team September of 2012 and has been a great asset to the growth and knowledge of our service department. He is eager to learn and attends service schools to stay up to date with powersports industry related information. He takes pride in his work and thoroughly goes over the equipment to ensure everything has been double checked before leaving the shop. He takes the time to demonstrate the proper use of the unit to the customer before they leave and we are always hearing back from the customer to how much they appreciate this part of the purchase. If they have a question he cannot answer he will find the answer for them. He has a love for his 2003 Kawasaki Ninja ZZR250 and his rider skills on two wheels are exceptional to say the least. His pride and joy is spending whatever time he gets with his daughter Charlie, she is the apple of his eye and a joy to watch grow into a sweet young girl.

We carry a variety of different equipment for the hunters and fishers, including non-restricted and restricted firearms, ammunition, turkey calls, clothing, gun accessories, deer calls, scents, fishing lures, rods, reels, fishing accessories, crossbows, and much, much more. We accept consignments and trade ins on firearms. We also have been a part of organizing courses here in our community on weekends during the winter season for hunting, possession, and acquisition licenses.

As you can see from above, this is a family owned and operated business, we strive on customer satisfaction, and aim for that small-town service. So please stop by and have a look you just might find what you have been looking for.
